A assignment I was given during my internship at Visit-Shreveport Bossier was helping coming up with a logo design for Querbes Golf Course 100 years. The most challenging aspect of this project was just how to start; I wasn’t sure what to go for and was struggling coming up with Ideas. However, I had worked at Querbes before in the past and remembered how many squirlls are around the golf course and thought that could work perfectly. I used Adobe InDesign for the final draft and Canvas to help get a blueprint of the Idea.
Professional Head Shots
An assignment I did and helped with was that of getting creative headshots of students or other college age kids around the area. This one in particular was a struggle for me because I Wasn’t sure at first how to do a headshot that wasn’t the basic way of doing it. After watching some videos and messing around with the camera I was finally able to understand it. I used a Canon camera and Photoshop and Lightroom to help make editi
During the same time as helping make their Querbes Logo I also was assigned to design a fan that would be given out to golfers for their 100-year event. The biggest struggle I faced was somehow putting both our logo and Querbes logo on the fan while still making it appealing to the eye. After messing with some ideas, I finally found the one that was the best. I used InDesign to design and finalize this fan.
This professional headshot I took was the most fluffing to me because it not only captured the subject in good lighting and shows that they are a hand crew. But also, because it gives it this creative feel that I had been searching to do with my other photos. The biggest challenge was finding real and creative shots while they were working, creating a on the fly process that was tough to figure out at first. The camera I used was that of a canon and the software I used to edit these phots was rather Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Light
In this assignment the student wanted a very different and creative headshot. Since he was trying out for a part in a darker play he wanted his headshot to go with the character he was trying out for. The most challenging part was figuring what kinda character that was and how to implement that into a headshot. However, after reading the material and watching some clips online of the character I was able to figure out some ideas and photos to do. To get all this I used my canon camera with multiple different lenses to take the pictures as well as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to make the necessary edits on the photos.
Podcasts
From the very start of my time at Centenary campus life I was involved some way to making a podcast that other people on campus could listen to. However, a problem that was quiet difficult is when one of our co-stars left and we had to make a pivot and only have two host instead of the ussually three. We would all work as a team to help write scripts or ideas out as well as the editing of the sound. I used things like Audacity to help with the sound as well Microsoft word to help with any ides, and I bring my sound equipment I had gotten from my birthday.
Press Releases
This assignment required me to write a press release about Chef Niema and other Louisiana chefs, picked from the Shreveport-Bossier area, that would be traveling to New York to Showcase their culinary talents and Louisiana flavors. Since this was going to be my first press release, one problem I encountered was figuring out exactly what a press release entails, since it is different from other types of writing. I read examples of press releases online and got advice from the people I work with, allowing them to guide me through and check my progress as I developed the press release. I used Microsoft Word to write the draft and Simpleview CMS to complete and publish this press release.
